A career criminal and convicted child molester on the "Most Wanted" list of Utah of Department of Corrections has been arrested at a Fresno, Calif., apartment complex.

KUTV News reported Tuesday that Parvis Marashi was in custody in California awaiting extradition back to Utah.

A tip led Fresno police and federal marshals to the apartment complex, which contained numerous families with children. Officers spotted Marashi sitting outside the complex on Monday, where he had apparently been staying with friends, and took him into custody without incident.

Marashi's rap sheet includes charges of burglary, theft, possession of a controlled substance and burglary of a vehicle, along with two convictions for sexual abuse of a child.

Wanted for alleged parole violations, Marashi was expected to eventually return to Utah State Prison.
