Harmons Grocery Stores, the Utah Lions Clubs Foundation and the Utah Foundation for the Blind will present the third annual Walk with the Blind and 5K Fun Run on Saturday, Sept. 15 at the Holladay Lions Park at 1616 S. Murray-Holladay Road.

Those partners hope to raise $10,000 to support several sight preservation programs in Utah.

The event will kick off with a 5K race at 8 a.m. Day-of-race registration is $30 and participants will receive a pancake breakfast and a T-shirt. Pre-registration is $25. The pancake breakfast begins at 9 a.m. and costs $5 for adults and $3 for children for those not participating in the race.

The community is also invited to take an escorted nature walk in the park while bind folded or to guide a sightless person through the Walk with the Blind course. Registration for the walk is $10.

Registration is available online for all of the events at www.walkwiththeblind.org.

The family event will also include a clown, face painting, live music and educational booths.
