Tooele • The National Auto Sport Association (NASA) has announced its championship event will return to Miller Motorsports Park on Sept. 5-8, 2013.

The NASA national championships are the biggest amateur road-racing competition in North America, attracting more than 400 cars and teams from across the country.

The prestigious event was previously held at Miller Motorsports Park in 2009 and 2010 and prompted the creation of the Utah Region of NASA, which now sanctions and organizes MMP's amateur sports car racing championship.

"We are very proud to be chosen as the site for the 2013 NASA national championships," said John Larson, general manager of Miller Motorsports Park.

"... This is a very significant event for Miller Motorsports Park and the state of Utah. We look forward to welcoming racing teams from across the country next September."

The 2013 NASA national championships will mark the seventh year of this event, where participants compete for more than $1 million dollars in contingency money and prizes.
