Lora Slabodkina, a specialist in internal medicine, has joined Jordan Valley Internal Medicine in West Jordan, which is part of the Physician Group of Utah. Slabodkina earned her medical degree from Krymsky Medicinskly Institute in Simferopol, Ukraine. After medical school she completed a residency program at Woodhull Mental and Medical Health Center in New York.

Bankruptcy attorney Jessica Peterson has been selected to direct Durham Jones & Pinegar's Women Lawyers Group. Peterson is a six-year associate with the firm. She practices in the areas of bankruptcy, creditors' rights and litigation. She received her law degree from the University of Utah.

Craig W. Anderson has been named Environmental Division chief at the Utah Attorney General's Office. He has been the environmental compliance unit chief at the Salt Lake District Attorney's Office since 1993. Anderson also has practiced law for the Utah Department of Environmental Quality, Van Wagoner & Stevens and Suitter, Axland, Armstrong & Hanson. He received his law degree from the University of Utah in 1977.

The law firm of Snell & Wilmer has announced that Alan L. Sullivan, partner in its Salt Lake City office, was inducted into the International Academy of Trial Lawyers at the group's midyear meeting in late July in Vail, Colo. The academy limits membership to 500 fellows from the United States.

Robert R. Harrison, an attorney with the Salt Lake City-based law firm of Snow, Christensen & Martineau, is leaving to accept a position as senior counsel for medical staff affairs at The Johns Hopkins Health System in Baltimore.

SWCA Environmental Consultants, Phoenix, has promoted Ben Gaddis to natural resources and planning program director for its Great Basin operation. Gaddis is based in Salt Lake City and will be responsible for developing new business, managing client relationships and projects, and managing and mentoring natural resource and planning program staff.

Carolyn Montgomery and Brian Burnett have been elected to the board of directors of the law firm of Callister, Nebeker & McCullough. Montgomery has been an attorney in Salt Lake City for more than 30 years, specializing in bankruptcy, creditors' rights and commercial litigation matters. Burnett graduated from the University of Utah College of Law in 1982. Formerly an assistant attorney general for the state of Utah, he handles energy, natural resources and environmental law matters for clients

FOCUS Engineering & Surveying, a locally owned, full-service civil engineering and land surveying firm, has announced that Dennis Carlisle has accepted a new position as senior land surveyor. He has more than 30 years of experience. He received his Utah professional land surveying license in 1991 and also is licensed in Arizona, Colorado and Wyoming.

Tyler Bernius of Professional Service Industries has earned his professional engineer designation. Bernius is a graduate of Seattle University with a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering. He is a staff engineer in PSI's Salt Lake City operations office and has been with the company since 2006.

Long-time KRCL volunteer Eugenie Hero Jaffe has joined the radio station as a midday host. Jaffe replaces Jamie Gadette, who after three years behind the mic recently resigned to concentrate on graduate school studies. Jaffee started at the station as a volunteer in 2003.
