STANLEY, N.D. • A Utah man working in the North Dakota oil fields is being treated at a Minnesota burn center after an oil rig explosion.

Mountrail County Sheriff Ken Halvorson says 29-year-old Jeffery Kinkaid, of Nephi, Utah, apparently became wedged beneath a burning tank and suffered burns on about 90 percent of his body in the incident Tuesday at a Hess Corp. site southwest of Stanley.

The cause of the blast was not immediately determined.
