USU football - Bojay tackles career-high, sheds no tears afterwards

The question came rapidly from the media group to Bojay Filimoeatu:

What was it that made you so emotional after the win over Utah?

The answer?

"I didn't cry," said the senior linebacker with a laugh.

Filimoeatu, who played against friends and family alike on Friday night in USU's 27-20 win over the Utes, was the beast USU coaches thought he could be when he committed to the Aggies last season.

His 12 tackles were a career-high. His 2.5 tackles for loss was game-changing, his sack of Jordan Wynn a thing of beauty for Utah State fans.

He had two quarterback hurries, he spent seemingly all night in Utah's backfield. He dominated the way Bobby Wagner did last season.

"It was tough, man," Filimoeatu said. "We were tired at the end. We needed stops, we were cramping. But we hung in there and we made the plays when it mattered."

The USU linebacking core played lights out against the Utes.

Freshman Kyler Fackrell had 11 tackles and two hurries. Zach Vigil had 10 tackles and Jake Doughty had nine stops. In a big way, the group answered questions of whom would step up and play well after losing Wagner and Kyle Gallagher from last year.
