S. Jordan bakery wins 'Cupcake Wars'

Janell Brown, owner of the One Sweet Slice bakery in South Jordan, was the winner of the last night's episode of "Cupcake Wars."

The theme of the show was Star Wars and all the cupcakes created by Brown and her assistant, Kristin Cold, had a tie to the popular movie. Brown and Case, inpressed judges with their presentation and taste as well as their final round display inspired by the TIE Fighter.

Besides winning $10,000, the One Sweet Slice bakers earned a trip to Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla., where their cupcake creations were part of the grand reopening of Disney Star Tour's ride.

In addition to judges Candace Nelson and Florian Bellanger, the special guest judge was Ashley Eckstein, the voice of Ahsaka Tano, on Star Wars: The Clone Wars and also owner of Founder of Her Universe, the first merchandise line made exclusively for female Star Wars fans.

One Sweet Slice is the second Utah bakery to win the culinary competition on The Food Network. Earlier this year, Meagan Faulkner-Brown of The Sweet Tooth Fairy Bakery also won the TV contest.
