"Nevada email prompts Mormon church to reaffirm neutrality stand" (Tribune, Sept. 11) reported on an email from a public affairs specialist for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in southern Nevada to stake presidents about registering and getting Mormons out to vote; it referred them to Ron and Judy Tobler for support. Since Judy Tobler's "Facebook page lists Romney as one of her interests, with a link to his campaign page," questions were raised about the LDS Church's neutrality.

I have worked with the Toblers and attended meeting where they trained people how to register to vote. I would not have known from that meeting that the Toblers had a political preference.

They were knowledgeable about the voter registration requirements and had made multiple trips to the state office to get more forms and drop off completed forms. They did not break down how people registered, and they instructed us to be blind to political affiliation.

My experience left me no doubt about their integrity. There was no question that they would register everyone they could, regardless of party preference.
