Salt Lake City police on Saturday arrested a man wanted in connection with the August slaying of a teenager.

David Angel Montes, 21, of Salt Lake City, was charged last week with one count of second-degree felony obstruction of justice.

Montes, according to charges that included a $250,000 warrant, was present when 16-year-old Kenyatta Winston was killed, and assisted in getting rid of the body by dumping it.

Lt. Craig Gleason said Montes was arrested after detectives spotted him driving a blue Honda Accord near 800 South and West Temple. Police stopped the vehicle and found that Montes had a pistol in the car and a small amount of marijuana on him. The vehicle he was driving also was reported stolen, police said.

Kenyatta's body was discovered Aug. 29, dumped in a vacant Sugar House lot near 1120 E. Crandall Ave. (about 2900 South). Police have not released a motive in the slaying.

No charges have been filed against anyone but Montes. But police have arrested Frank Paul Reyos, 30, on suspicion of homicide, and his sister, Jessica Reyos, 38, and Frank Reyos' girlfriend, Brittney Montano, 21, on suspicion of helping to cover up Kenyatta's death.
