South Ogden • Police are investigating vandalism targeting two law enforcement deputies that left black spray paint on their South Ogden homes and a law enforcement vehicle over the weekend.

A South Ogden police spokesman says the Weber County Sheriff's deputy and the Davis County Sheriff's deputy found the paint on Saturday morning.

Both officers live in the same neighborhood near 1200 East and 5800 South.

Officer Matt Thompson says the Davis County deputy's DARE car was parked in his driveway and was covered in black spray paint, and a message was left on the driveway with an expletive followed by the word "cops."

The same message was written in black paint on the Weber County deputy's garage.

Thompson tells The Standard-Examiner (bit.ly/RbjZ7l) that authorities believe the officers were targeted.
