The Grow America Springboard Competition, a contest that gathers together some of the best business plans and ideas from Utah entrepreneurs, has announced its list of 300 first-round winners.

Those nominees will move on to a second round, where they must re-submit their presentations by Sept. 28. The top 100 finalists from that round will advance to an event Nov. 1 at the Salt Palace Convention Center where they will make a final pitch.

Winners will be named in three categories — growth, start-up and idea — and will awarded $1,500 to $6,000.

The first-round winners will attend mentor strategy sessions for help with their business plans and videos. For a list of the 300 winners, go to www.growam.com.

The competition is sponsored by Utah-based Grow America, which advises young companies.
