A man is in serious condition after he was stabbed in a robbery attempt Wednesday night in Kearns.
Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal said the 30-year-old man stopped his car by Kearns High School on Northwest Avenue at about 9 p.m. because he was having car trouble. As he got out, a man walked up to him and demanded his wallet. When the victim refused, the man stabbed him and ran away, Hoyal said.
The victim then drove his car to a residence nearby and called the police. Hoyal said the victim was taken to Intermountain Health Center in serious condition. Hoyal did not say where the man was stabbed, citing a desire not to publicize information known only by the suspect, who was still at large late Wednesday night.
Hoyal said police are looking for a man with a stocky build who is about 5-feet 10-inches tall.
