Zions Bank in east-central Salt Lake City robbed

Salt Lake City police are seeking the public's help in bringing a bank robber to justice.

The suspect, described as a white man wearing a knitted cap, sunglasses and hooded yellow sweatshirt, walked into the Zions Bank branch office at 455 E. South Temple at 9:08 a.m. Thursday. Wearing blue rubber-like gloves, he handed a note to the teller demanding money and also verbally indicated he was armed.

The teller surrendered an unspecified amount of cash, and the robber fled on foot.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 801-799-3000. Anonymous tips also may be sent by texting TIPSLCPD plus information to CRIMES (274637).
