A few years of firework assaults on residential neighborhoods has only proven that common sense no longer applies in Utah during the month of July.

If Utah leaders (Gov. Herbert and his posse) themselves were capable of displaying genuine common sense and concern for their citizens, along with filling state coffers, they would ban these dangerous explosives and, for all that is holy, let us have a lottery. Peace and quiet will fall over Happy Valley and maybe bring back the true meaning of America's birth which is still July 4, not July 1,2,3,5,6,7. Hello, Earth to Utah, didn't you get the memo?

May common sense be with you and the fires burn away from you. Good luck, Chuck.
