Park City • Authorities have identified a 33-year-old man who died after a weekend motorcycle crash east of Park City.

Utah Highway Patrol officials say Nathan Champneys of Salt Lake City died of his injuries after the crash about 1 a.m. Saturday.

Investigators say the motorcycle was heading north on U.S. 40 when it apparently drifted off the roadway and traveled down the median for several hundred feet.

Authorities say Champneys was trying to bring the motorcycle back onto the road, but it eventually went down near the Park City/Kamas exit.

Troopers say Champneys was not wearing a helmet. He was airlifted to University Hospital, where he later died.
