Maverik store reopens in Pleasant Grove

A gas and convenience store has opened at 70 S. 100 East in Pleasant Grove after Maverik demolished its outdated building on the site. The store features a full bakery, grill, self-serve yogurt and milkshake machines. The location is open 24 hours a day.

Early iPhone5 sales are less than expected

Apple Inc. sold 5 million units of the new iPhone 5 in the three days after its launch, less than the 6.5 million that was expected. Apple could have sold more iPhones if it had more available. Demand exceeded supply for most models.

Toyota plans broader line of its hybrids

Toyota Motor Corp. is boosting its green vehicle lineup, with plans for 21 hybrids in the next three years, a new electric car later this year and a fuel cell vehicle by 2015 in response to growing demand for fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly driving.

Facebook Inc.'s stock took another hit Monday after Barron's magazine said it is "still too pricey" despite a sharp decline since its initial public offering. Shares fell $2.03, or 8.9 percent, to close at $20.83. The company went public on May 18 at a share price of $38, which it has not matched since or rarely approached.

Discover to refund some service fees

Discover Financial Services has agreed to pay $200 million in refunds to 3.5 million cardholders who bought unneeded credit-protection services over the phone, plus another $14 million in civil penalties to banking regulators.
