Keep checks coming

From its editorials and opinions, it's obvious that The Tribune, like most news media outlets, slants every issue from the socialist Democratic viewpoint. You are all a pro-Obama agenda: more government programs to handle all public "needs"; more taxes to help more people. How about freedom and personal responsibility for one's life and well-being?

When the state starts deciding which businesses should succeed and which should not, and who should be taxed a lot more so that government can "redistribute" wealth more "fairly," it removes incentive for anyone to excel because it takes profit from them and doles it out to those it deems more deserving.

This philosophy is the beginning of socialism. It has become the vote-buying scheme of the socialist Democrat Party. If you get the majority of citizens to buy into the cradle-to-grave caretaker government idea, they will vote Democrat to keep the assistance checks coming.

Soon government is so in debt, it must consume all production in order to distribute promised assistance. Do we want to move in the direction that financially collapsed the governments in Europe?

We the people need to take responsibility for our own welfare.
