Mitt doesn't get it

As a faithful Mormon, I wish I could support Gov. Mitt Romney, but I can't.

My message to him is: You just don't get it! I am a senior citizen and rely on Social Security and Medicare. As a veteran, I also get medical benefits from the V.A.

Regardless, I'm not sure I fall into Romney's 47 percent category of Americans who depend on the government because I also pay a higher percentage of income taxes than Romney does.

Like most of America's older generations, I recognize the gravity of our country's financial crisis, thanks primarily to eight years of the Bush administration. Most seniors are willing to do their share to clean up the mess. I just want the upper 2 percent to do their share.

If Mitt does "get it," he is unwilling to say so. He's afraid of being pummeled with soggy tea bags. Shame on him.
