Gouged at the zoo

Last week, I took my family to the Hogle Zoo. I fully understand that we taxpayers subsidize the zoo, and I do not mind in helping the zoo to remain open.

I do mind being gouged — not over-charged, but gouged! When I went to purchase a slushy style drink for my grandkids, my jaw dropped when I was told it was $18 for three drinks! I canceled my order. The same thing happened when I wanted to purchase a souvenir.

Next time I, the taxpayer, am asked to subsidize the zoo, I will think twice.
