Freshman defender Megan Trabert buried a first-half header, and sophomore midfielder Harley Spier scored for the second consecutive game as the Utah women's soccer team defeated Washington 2-0 Sunday at Ute Field.

In the 38th minute, Utah's McKel Wall slid a pass to Avery Ford, who lofted a cross to the far post. The 5-foot-10 Trabert outjumped the Washington defense and slammed a header past Washington goalkeeper Kari Davidson for her first career goal.

Spier delivered an insurance goal in the 67th minute, off the rebound on a long-range shot by Ford, and Utah (7-2-2, 2-1-0 Pac-12) completed a weekend sweep after beating Washington State 2-1 in overtime on Friday.

"We didn't start very well on Friday so today the team was really focused on starting well and taking it to Washington on our home field," said Utah coach Rich Manning. "Clearly we did a great job of that. We executed well, we put pressure on them and we were unlucky not to have another goal or two. I was really proud of that. The first half was one of our best performances of the year, no question. Washington is a very good team and they showed their character by pushing back in the second half for sure."

Utah goalkeeper Lindsey Luke made seven saves to earn the shutout.

Loyola Marymount 3, Utah Valley 2 • In Los Angeles, Regan Benson and McKell Salmon scored second-half goals for the Wolverines, but their rally from a 3-0 deficit came up short.
