Writing and recording "Kill My Blues," The Corin Tucker Band's new album, was a group effort. "A lot of the time I bring in a verse and chorus that is straight-ahead rock," Tucker said. "Then the rhythm section kicks it and brings in the funk."

The new album, released last month, will remind many fans of Tucker's raw and rapid-fire work with the punk-rock mainstay Sleater-Kinney.

"When we went out onto the road, we found that people really wanted to dance," Tucker said. "I really like to dance, but you have to bring it" to entice the audience to do the same.

And the last show where Tucker, a Portland resident, danced? A B-52's show.
