I have two tickets to give away to Kimbra's Tuesday, Oct. 9 show at The Depot.

To win the tickets, all you have to do is send me an e-mail to dburger@sltrib.com and say — in 140 characters or less — why you deserve/want to go. The winner will be announced Monday in the late afternoon on this blog, and the deadline for entries is Monday, Oct. 8 at noon.

Please put "Kimbra" in the subject line.

You may not recognize the name Kimbra, but you've definitely heard her.

As the female voice on Gotye's worldwide smash hit "Somebody That I Used to Know," she stole the song with her intensity.

Kimbra, 22, a native New Zealander who now lives in Australia, will headline her own show at The Depot, touring to promote her 2011 album "Vows."

Kimbra said in a Tribune interview she lucked into the duet when another high-profile singer backed out at the last minute. The overnight fame means her "social life is very different now."

The song offered her a taste of success, and she is ready for more. Kimbra's songs vary widely between pop, soul and jazz. She is no one-trick pony — she won the Critics' Choice Prize at the 2011 New Zealand Music Awards and the Best Female Artist and Best Song at the Australian Recording Industry Music Association Awards in 2011.
