A grass fire burned about 40 acres on a hillside near the mouth of Ogden Canyon on Sunday afternoon.

The fire began about 4 p.m. along the side of a trail on the north side of the canyon mouth, said Ogden Deputy Fire Chief Matt Schwenk. The blaze was about 80 percent contained by nightfall; crews expected to fully contain the fire on Monday.

No structures were damaged, Schwenk said.
