Two former top executives at Utah-based FranklinCovey Co., one the son of the late management guru Stephen R. Covey, say they are poised to launch a "global training network" that will offer programs developed by some of the best minds in the business consulting field.
David M.R. Covey and Stephan Mardykis, who served as co-chief operating officers at FranklinCovey, founded Dallas-based SMCOV in 2010.
They say their company soon will debut cutting-edge programs that will address many of the complex challenges facing individuals and organizations today ranging from developing effective leaders to motivating an under-performing sales force.
"Most training content has been developed in the last 20 to 30 years and is therefore very outdated," Mardykis said in a statement. "Today's jobs require a very different mindset and new complex skills."
The duo claim SMCOV has aligned itself with an arsenal of training products developed by "some of the most ground-breaking thought leaders around the globe."
Mardykis and Covey said SMCOV will introduce individual training products and programs in coming weeks.
