U.S. Rep. Rob Bishop endorsed 4th District contender Mia Love on Thurday, which was not really unexpected, but offered some strong criticism of his fellow congressman, Jim Matheson.
Bishop said Matheson has effectively cancelled out his vote 139 times in the past few months, or, as Bishop quipped, "I should say [Rep. Jason] Chaffetz was cancelled out, because I think my vote was more important."
Bishop specifically cited Matheson's votes for the stimulus and his 2011 vote against the repeal of Obamacare as examples where he and Matheson have been on different sides of issues.
"Republicans come in there with a philosophy. We actually see the world in the same way," Bishop said. "And having four people working for the betterment of Utah who have the same philosophical approach … is going to make a world of difference for the State of Utah."
