Portland, Ore. • Jessica Ringwood and Michelle Murphy each scored goals as No. 5-ranked BYU beat Portland 2-0 in West Coast Conference women's soccer Saturday night.
BYU goalkeeper Erica Owens made a diving, one-handed save off a Portland free kick in the 79th minute. But the Pilots struck soon after, with Kendall Johnson scored in the 81st minute.
BYU improves to 13-1-1 and 2-0-1 in the WCC play.
Utah Valley 2, South Carolina State 1 • In Orangeburg, S.C., the Wolverines scored two goals in 12 seconds late in the second half to remain unbeaten in Great West Conference play.
Jaime Lyons tied the game in the 82 minute, and Lexi Dunn scored soon after on a long free kick. Lauren Sack made seven saves for Utah Valley (5-10-1. 3-0).
Western Oregon 66, Dixie State 20 • In Monmouth, Ore., Mitch Frei caught seven passes for 129 yards and a touchdown for the Red Storm, who allowed a season-high 686 yards of offense in a forgettable Great Northwest Athletic Conference game.
Dixie State is 3-4 overall and 3-3 in conference play.
BYU 3, San Francisco 1 • In Provo, the No. 16-ranked Cougars remained unbeaten at Smith Fieldhouse this season, winning 25-18, 25-14, 20-25, 25-21 in West Coast Conference play.
Alexa Gray and Nicole Warner each had 12 kills for BYU (18-1, 6-1)
Utah State 3, San Jose State 0 • In San Jose, Calif., Rachel Orr had a match-high 12 kills and the Aggies maintained at least a share of first place in the Western Athletic Conference with a 25-17, 25-15, 25-19 victory.
Paige Neves had 33 assists and Ashlan Rogers tallied 14 digs for Utah State (13-6, 8-1), which has won five of its past six matches.
Utah Valley 3, NJIT 2 • In Orem, Kalani Norris had a career-high 21 kills to lead the Wolverines to their fourth straight victory, 20-25, 25-16, 25-13, 21-25, 15-12.
Lauren Stringham tallied 12 kills and Brookelyn Hall had a match-high 44 kills for UVU (11-7, 3-0 Great West Conference).
Portland State 3, Weber State 0 • In Ogden, Mariah Katoa had a team-high eight kills, but 14 receiving errors and a hitting percentage of just .011 led to a 25-18, 25-9, 25-12 loss in Big Sky Conference play.
Weber State is 8-13 and 2-8 in the Big Sky.
Northern Colorado 3, S outhern Utah 0 • In Greeley, Colo., the Thunderbirds lost their third straight game 25-14, 28-26, 25-21 in Big Sky Conference play.
Analaine had nine kills and Alissa Youart tallied 18 digs for SUU (8-13, 4-6).
Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) 3, Westminster 2 • Alexis Alona tallied 16 kills and 11 digs, but it wasn't enough as the Griffins fell short against the No. 25-ranked Warriors 33-35, 32-30, 17-25, 25-14, 15-13 in a Frontier Conference match that featured 35 ties and 18 lead changes.
Westminster is 13-8 and 6-4 in conference play.
Holy Names University (Calif.) 3, Dixie State 2 • In St. George, the Red Storm were up two sets and held leads of 22-13 and 24-21 in the third set, but couldn't finish off Holy Names in a 14-25, 25-27, 27-25, 25-15, 15-12 loss.
Makenzi Bird had 16 kills and Haylee Wilkes had 14 for Dixie State (6-9, 4-6 Pacific West Conference).
College of Southern Idaho 3, Snow College 0 • In Ephraim, the Golden Eagles won their 18th straight game to improve to 22-1 and 7-0 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
Snow is 12-8 and 2-4 in the SWAC.
SLCC 3, North Idaho College 1 • In Taylorsville, Maddie Bushman tallied 13 kills and 20 digs to lead No. 5 Salt Lake Community College to a 25-18, 25-16, 20-25, 25-17 win in SWAC play.
Mayra Ramirez had a match-high 15 kills for the Bruins (20-5, 5-2).
