Here's your weekly roundup of what local city councils, school boards and other government entities are tackling during regularly scheduled meetings. All meetings are open to the public, and citizens are welcome to voice their opinions during designated times. If you do wish to speak at a particular meeting, you may need to sign up in advance.

Centerville City Council • Will hold a public hearing on an amendment to the city's general plan on objectives pertaining to parks, open space and trails; Tuesday, Oct. 16, 7 p.m., 250 N. Main St., Centerville. View the Centerville agenda.

Cottonwood Heights City Council • Will hold a work session to hear several reports and to discuss deputy city manager position, Millcreek incorporation and other items; Tuesday, Oct. 16, 6 p.m., City Offices, Suite 250, 1265 E. Davis County Commission • Will hold a public hearing to consider additional budget appropriation requests, to be funded by additional revenues that were not anticipated when the budget was adopted or by monies unspent in the prior year; Tuesday, Oct. 16, 10 a.m., Davis County Administrative Office Building, 61 S. Farmington City Council • Will hold a public hearing on a zone change for property located at 308 S. 1100 West; Tuesday, Oct. 16, 7 p.m., 160 S. Main, Farmington. View the Farmington agenda.

Fruit Heights City Council • Will consider awarding a bid for the Country Road land drain project; Tuesday, Oct. 16, 7 p.m., 910 S. Mountain Road, Fruit Heights. View the Fruit Heights agenda.

Holladay Planning Commission • Will discuss residential office zone standards; Tuesday, Oct. 16, 7 p.m., Municipal Center, 4580 S. 2300 East, Holladay. View the Holladay agenda.

Kaysville City Council • Will hear a West Davis Corridor study update and consider the rezone of approximately 100 acres in the 200 North and Angel Street area; Tuesday, Oct. 16, 7 p.m., 23 E. Center St., Kaysville. View the Kaysville agenda.

Midvale City Council • Will hold a public hearing to consider amending the 2013 budget, will also vote on a resolution to adjust fees; Tuesday, Oct. 16, 7 p.m., City Hall, 655 W. Center St., Midvale. View the Midvale agenda.

Murray City Council • During 5:30 p.m. work session in room #107, will meet the new library director, and will also discuss ordinances regarding swimming pools and home occupation businesses. During 6:30 p.m. session in council chambers, will hold public hearing on parking of mobile food-pantry truck by the Utah Food Bank and the Salt Lake Community Action Program in Murray, Tuesday, Oct. 16, City Center, 5025 S. North Salt Lake City Council • Will hold a public hearing on a resolution to make a formal finding of blight within a portion of the I-215 Legacy Highway survey area; Tuesday, Oct. 16, 7 p.m., 10 E. Center St., North Salt Lake. View the North Salt Lake agenda.

Ogden City Council • Will consider process for city contributions to new development projects, will also consider $100,000 in support over five years for existing structure demolition and construction of a 7-Eleven convenience store on the southwest corner of 17th Street and Washington Boulevard; Tuesday, Oct. 16, 6 p.m., Municipal Building, 3rd floor council chambers, 2549 Washington Blvd., Ogden. Provo City Council • Will hold a public hearing on a proposal for the creation of family housing including low, medium and high residential zoning for five new multi-family dwellings. The meeting will be Tuesday Oct. 16 at 5:30 p.m., at 351 West Center, Provo. The housing zoning also includes campus high density residential an campus mixed use. Salt Lake County Council • Will receive an update on the budget, with midyear sales tax figures and an economic outlook; Tuesday, Oct. 16, 12:45 p.m. in Room 2003, North Building, County Government Center, 2001 S. State, Salt Lake City.

Sandy City Council • Will appoint a new council member to fill the vacant District 3 seat on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 7:05 p.m., 10000 Centennial Parkway, Sandy. It will also hold a public hearing for its bi-annual opening of the city budget. View the Sandy City agenda.

South Jordan City Council • Will hold public hearing to consider community development block grant plan for j2013-14; will also vote on budgets for upcoming capital improvement projects; will also take action concerning appeal of Planning Commission's permit approval for "The Gun Vault;" Tuesday, Oct. 16, 6 p.m., Council Chambers, City Hall, 1600 W. Taylorsville City Council • Will hold a public hearing on proposed amendments to the Land Development Code relating to temporary businesses, tobacco specialty store, Reiki and reception centers; Wednesday, Oct. 17, 6:30 p.m., 2600 W. West Valley City Council • Will hold a public hearing on a request to amend the general plan from Medium Density Residential (7 to 12 units an acre) to High Density Residential (12 to 20 units an acre) for property at approximately 2600 S.
