State colleges: Utah women's volleyball team sweeps Arizona State

Sophomore outside hitter Chelsey Schofield had 15 kills to lead the Utah women's volleyball team to a 25-15, 25-16, 25-22 victory over Arizona State on Sunday at Crimson Court, giving the Utes their second Pac-12 victory in their last three matches.

Utah coach Beth Launiere said the Utes (11-10, 2-6) played their best match of the season.

"I felt like that if we got into the flow, we were ready to start taking off," she said. "We finally did that today and everything was clicking."

Utah had a .435 hitting percentage, while holding Arizona State to .182.

Junior outside hitter Morgan Odale contributed nine kills without a single attack error on 19 attempts for a .474 hitting clip to go along with seven digs.

Women's soccer

Southern Utah 3, North Dakota 0 • In Grand Forks, N.D., Sydney Cook, Mackenzie Moreno and Stacey Brinkman scored second-half goals in SUU's Big Sky Conference victory, with Brinkman becoming the Thunderbirds' career scoring leader (18). Goalkeeper Charly Booth made six saves to post her first shutout of the season for SUU (1-5-1, 2-9-2).

Westminster 2, Rocky Mountain 2 • Jaime Nelson and Rylei North scored for the host Griffins (10-3-1, 2-1-1) in the Frontier Conference draw.

Men's soccer

Westminster 1, Rocky Mountain 0 • Jace Maxfield scored off Ryan Holmes' cross in the 68th minute to lift the Griffins (10-4-1, 1-1-0) to the Frontier Conference victory.
