Psychosexual eval ordered for former Box Elder deputy

A former Box Elder County sheriff's deputy accused of sexually assaulting women during a series of traffic stops has been ordered to undergo a psychosexual evaluation.

Scott Womack, 36, appeared in 1st District Court last week, where Judge Ben Hadfield ordered the evaluation.

Womack faces charges in both state and federal court and, according to court records, both sides have been working toward resolving all the charges in the federal system.

Womack was charged in various jurisdictions in the northern Utah county earlier this year after an investigation by the Weber County Sheriff's Office. In total, Womack is charged with one felony and six misdemeanors. Charging documents allege the crimes happened on six different dates between Oct. 1, 2010, and July 20, 2011.

Womack also has been charged with eight counts of deprivation of rights under color of law following a federal investigation. Court documents allege Womack on eight different occasions ordered women to expose parts of their bodies during traffic stops.

Womack is scheduled to next appear in state court in November.
