Autumn is nature reminding us that life and beauty are fleeting. As songwriter Chad Sugg puts it: "Love the trees until their leaves fall off, then encourage them to try again next year."

Utah's mid-week weather cries out for such thoughts. The National Weather Service has a sunny, cooler and breezy fall forecast for the Wasatch Front, with temperatures ranging from upper-30s overnight to mid-60s during the day.

Southern Utahns look for highs near 80 degrees on Thursday with overnight lows in the mid-50s.

You should be able breathe deep the perfume of autumn leaves, too: the Utah Division of Air Quality has hoisted its "Green," or healthy air quality banner for the entire state.

Salt Lake City expected a high temperature of 65 Thursday, up four degrees from Wednesday's forecast; Ogden looked for 70 and 63 degrees, respectively; Provo 65 and 61; Logan 62 and 57; Wendover 61 and 58; Duchesne 61 and 57; Cedar City 69 and 66; St. George 81 and 80; and Moab 68 and 67 degrees.
