A 33-year-old Emery County man pleaded guilty to reduced charges in connection with a woman who died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in his home.

Randy John Behling, of Ferron, was originally charged in 7th District Court with manslaughter, a second-degree felony; four counts of reckless endangerment, class A misdemeanors; and carrying a dangerous weapon under the influence of alcohol, a class B misdemeanor.

On Tuesday, he pleaded guilty to two counts of reckless endangerment as part of a plea deal.

According to court documents, Behling admits that he "recklessly allowed" an intoxicated Alisa Weston to come inside his home and have access to a loaded firearm on July 28.

Weston fatally shot herself with the gun, according to court documents, while four minor children slept in nearby bedrooms.

Behling is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 15.
