Re "Too Many Mitts: Obama has earned another term" (Our View, Oct. 21):

I was an editorial writer (St. Petersburg Times) for the last half of a long career in journalism, so I know how difficult it is to write an editorial that you can assume will likely displease most of your readers. My colleagues and I had such moments. But I can't recall any that took as much courage as The Tribune editorial board evidenced in its presidential recommendation. It was a triumph of professionalism and, even beyond that, of devotion to our country. Thank you.
