I just shake my head at all those who in outrage and offense threatened to end their Tribune subscription over its endorsement of Barack Obama in the presidential election ("Too Many Mitts: Obama has earned another term," Our View, Oct. 21). Do they cut off connection with (apparently now former) friends who support Obama?

You didn't hear such outrage from liberal Democrats when The Trib endorsed President George W. Bush for re-election or Gov. Gary Herbert.

And what is there to be offended by? Nothing was said or done to you personally, so don't take the endorsement personally. It was about Obama and Gov. Mitt Romney, not you.

What is the big deal that a group called the editorial board put their heads together and came out supporting Obama? Opinion is their job. They gave their reasoned explanation, and it's up to you to read it, or not, and to agree with it, or not.

Are these people upset with everyone who doesn't agree with them? Heavens, difference is human nature; that's why we have elections.

Conservatives don't like being called narrow-minded, but if you canceled your subscription over a silly endorsement, that's exactly what you are.
