A bunch of malarkey

Regarding the debate between vice presidential candidates Joe Biden and Paul Ryan, Luana Chapman quoted Proverbs 29:9 to criticize Biden's laughs and dismissive gestures: "When a wise person debates with a fool, the fool rages and laughs, and there is no peace and quiet" ("Raging fool," Forum, Oct. 20).
Consider what anyone would do, even in the days of the Old Testament, when some kid spouts a bunch of malarkey. Most people, wise or not, roll their eyes and laugh.
