Several months after headlining Red Butte Garden, Grace Potter and the folk-rocking Nocturnals will return to one of her preferred cities to play, she said in phone interview.

The Red Butte show was one of her "favorite concerts of the entire summer," in part because she got to perform a headlining set while spending much of the season opening for Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney in their stadium tour.

Not that she's complaining about the exposure she received from the gig, which was spurred by her hit country duet with Chesney, "You & Tequila."

"It was ground-breaking for us on learning how to play stadiums," the multi-instrumentalist said.

"You have to work in bigger strokes." But whether in an arena or club, Potter and her bluesy, rootsy band bring it.

"We like to make a spectacle wherever we go."
