The Southern Utah football team knocked off the nation's No. 1 ranked team in the FCS, Eastern Washington, on Saturday.

Colton Cook kicked a 36-yard field goal with 3 seconds remaining to lift the Thunderbirds to the 30-27 home win.

SUU quarterback Brad Sorensen completed 33 of his 43 attempts for 392 yards and a touchdown.

Sorensen hit Fatu Moala with a 21-yard pass for a score in the fourth quarter to even the score at 27-27.

Cook hit three field goals in the game.

SUU improved to 4-5 overall with the win. —
