The Utah Highway Patrol has identified a man who died after a Tooele County rollover crash as Rick A. Gonzalez, 40, of Salt Lake City.

UHP Cpl. Todd Johnson said Gonzalez died after a helicopter flew him to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray.

Gonzalez was ejected from his car about 8:30 a.m. Monday as it traveled east on Interstate 80, about 40 miles east of Wendover.

Johnson said Tuesday investigators suspect Gonzalez fell asleep at the wheel.

"There's no indication of [drug or alcohol] impairment," indicating that the patterns of tire tracks and other evidence at the scene suggested drowsiness as a factor.

A female passenger remained in critical condition, while a male passenger was listed in serious condition.
