Weber State freshman central midfielder Chansi Crompton was not only named as the Big Sky Conference's Newcomer of the Year, she was also one of two Wildcat midfielders selected for the All-Big Sky First Team as the conference announced its 2012 team and individual honors.

Another WSU freshman, central defender Brecken Holbrook, was named All-Big Sky First Team, giving the Wildcats two First Team All-Conference selections for the first time since 2008.

Weber State opens the Big Sky Conference Tournament on Friday at 3 p.m. as the 4th seed against No. 1 seed Idaho State in Pocatello. Portland State and Montana, the second and third seeds, respectively, open the tournament at 11:30 a.m.

The Wildcats had six players selected as All-Big Sky Honorable Mention — junior goalkeeper Ryann Waldman, freshman outside defender Shaylee Petersen, sophomore midfielder Kendra Bailey, sophomore midfielder Abbey Kennedy, freshman forward Mackenzie Harrison and senior forward Ari Aki.
