Daisy Girl Scout Kassie Aupperle has been in and out of Primary Children's Medical Center this year, for surgery on one of her ears and follow-up treatment.
At one point, there was a chance she would spend Halloween in the hospital and she wondered, "Will I still get to go trick-or-treating?"
On Tuesday, Kassie and her fellow Girl Scouts from Magna Troops 2382 and 2385 answered that question for children in the Salt Lake City hospital, delivering more than 300 treat bags for kids who will be too sick to go door-to-door on Wednesday.
The girls, ranging in age from kindergarten to ninth grade, created the bags with donations from their families and friends, according to Girl Scouts of Utah. They delivered the treats to the hospital on Tuesday evening.
The service project also honored the birthday of Girl Scout founder Juliette Gordon Low, whose birthday fell on Halloween.
