William Cullen Bryant's Utah weather forecast for Thursday: "Yet one smile more, departing, distant sun. . . . Yet one rich smile, and we will try to bear, the piercing winter frost, and winds, and darkened air."

Thursday will see Wasatch Front horizons surrender to cloud cover and daytime high temperatures in the 60s, down nearly double-digits from Wednesday's highs under clearer, sunnier skies.

The sunshine was to make a more reluctant retreat in southern Utah, where highs in the upper-70s were expected on a cloudy Thursday, down a few degrees from Halloween's temperatures under bluer skies.

The Utah Division of Air Quality hoisted its "Green," or healthy air quality pennants statewide.

Salt Lake City looked for a high Thursday of 68 degrees after Wednesday's forecast for 77; Ogden expected 64 and 73 degrees, respectively; Provo 70 and 75; Logan 63 and 71; Wendover 60 and 66; Duchesne 66 and 65; Cedar City 68 and 74; St. George 79 and 83; and Moab 73 and 72 degrees.
