UHP: Troopers plan a scare for drunken Halloween drivers

Drive drunk this Halloween and you may get a real scare — in the form of flashing red and blue lights, a stern officer of the law at your window, and time behind bars.
Utah Highway Patrol Cpl. Todd Johnson said Wednesday that troopers will be out in force throughout Salt Lake County during the holiday's witching hours, looking to stop and arrest intoxicated drivers.
The UHP issued the warning in hopes that "the motoring public [will] be responsible [and] arrange for designated drivers, when needed, and to reduce speeds and be mindful of pedestrians in trick-or-treating areas," Johnson said,
The alternative could be an unexpected Halloween in the Salt Lake County Jail with some new, unwelcome friends.
