Honoring sacrifices

This veteran thanks Charles Peyton for pointing out that "True patriotism" (Forum, Nov. 4) means voting.

To those who can vote but don't because they say it doesn't make any difference, I say: Not voting is an insult to the million of veterans who over the years have sacrificed so much, even making the ultimate sacrifice, to protect that right for you to vote.

Voting makes a huge difference to the memory of those veterans, a huge difference in our respect for our Founding Fathers and our Constitution. And it makes a huge difference in legitimizing your flag-waving and pledge-reciting patriotism.
