Martin Sexton headlines The Depot day after..

It seems appropriate for the 46-year-old bluesy folk musician (and often one-man band) Martin Sexton to visit Salt Lake City the day after Election Day — after all, the native New Yorker has been thinking more and more about the state of the world lately.

His most recent EP, "Fall Like Rain," included a cover of Buffalo Springfield's epoch-defining "For What It's Worth." "I truly believe we have reached the new '60s," he said in a phone interview.

Change begins with him and his peers, he added. "If it doesn't start with art and music, where is it going to start?"

For the near future, he admits that raising children is his focus, and he can't imagine having 12 children, even though he was one of 12 siblings. "There would be too much distraction," Sexton said. "I wouldn't be able to give each the love and attention they need."
