Westminster Chamber Orchestra: 'Star Tours: A Symphonic Journey Through the Cosmos'

Westminster Chamber Orchestra Presents "Star Tours: A Symphonic Journey Through the Cosmos" The Westminster Chamber Orchestra will present a free concert, "Star Tours: A Symphonic Journey Through the Cosmos," on Dec. 5, at 7:30 p.m. in the Vieve Gore Concert Hall in the Emma Eccles Jones Conservatory (1840 S. 1300 East). The performance will be the original soundtrack music from "Star Wars: A New Hope" and "The Empire Strikes Back," as well as the Utah Premiere of" Atlas Eclipticalis" on the 100th anniversary of John Cage's birth.

"Atlas Eclipticalis" will be accompanied by a multimedia presentation of NASA imagery curated by Professor Chris Cline of Westminster's physics department.

The orchestra is a 50-50 mix of Westminster students and volunteer musicians from the Salt Lake City area. The group is conducted by Dr. Brandon Derfler, professor of music at Westminster, and it performs at least twice a year for the public. The concert is free and open to the public.
