Woolstenhulme tapped to head UCAT's Ui..

The Utah College of Applied Technology has selected David R. Woolstenhulme, a Utah State University administrator, to lead its Roosevelt campus.

Woolstenhulme has worked for USU's Uintah Basin regional campus since 1997 in a variety of administrative capacities. He has been a member of the Roosevelt City Council and has served on several community committees and boards. He was also a teacher and coach at Duchesne High School and has owned several businesses.

"President Woolstenhulme has demonstrated positive relationships with the citizens of the Uintah Basin and is well-prepared to assume the [Uintah Basin Applied Technology College] presidency," UCAT president Rob Brems said in a statement. "He has a proven track record as an excellent administrator and will serve the technical education needs of students, business and industry well."

Woolstenhulme takes on his new appointment on Nov. 26, succeeding Mark Walker, who resigned as campus president last month.

"To be involved with providing technical education to the citizens of the Uintah Basin is a great opportunity," Woolstenhulme said. "I look forward to working with the UBATC Board of Directors, industry partners, faculty and staff to provide market-driven technical education to both secondary and adult students."

The UBATC, which also has a campus in a Vernal, is one of eight regional applied technology colleges overseen by UCAT.
