Our morality cliff

The extensive discussion of the looming "fiscal cliff" pales in juxtaposition to the moral cliff now facing our nation. The way that some attack immigrants, the lack of quality education for our children, the derision directed at the poor and the mentally ill, and the fascination with the private lives of individuals have escalated the creation of a no-fault morality society.

When a society moves away from basic human values of tolerance, brotherhood and community, our moral decline is far more to be feared than any so called fiscal cliff.
