Four nominees have been selected to fill the job of retiring West Valley City Justice Court Judge Keith Stoney.

Stoney is set to retire at the end of the year.

The Salt Lake County Nominating Commission chose the four candidates: Clint Gilmore, assistant chief prosecutor in West Valley City; Sydney Magid, a Salt Lake City Justice Court judge; Janet Miller, a Holladay-based attorney; and Narda Baes-Nordell, deputy district attorney for Salt Lake City.

A comment period will extend through Nov. 26 before a final candidate is selected by West Valley City Manager Wayne Pyle. Pyle has 30 days to make an appointment, which is subject to ratification by the West Valley City Council. The Utah Judicial Council must then certify the appointment.
