Logan • It wasn't the prettiest first half — not unlike Utah State's loss to Saint Mary's on Thursday — but this time the Aggies basketball team is leading 31-25 at halftime against Texas A&M Corpus Christi.

Playing only its third game of the season, Utah State showed some of that inexperience early with some offensive issues and allowing the Islanders to hit some big shots. Still, the Aggies have not yet trailed, and rode a hot streak to finish at 54.5 percent shooting at halftime.

The biggest contributers early in the game were Preston Medlin and Jarred Shaw, scoring 9 and 8 points respectively. Utah State had the edge inside, leading in rebounding and points in the paint. TeNale Roland dished out four assists.

Defensively, the Aggies held the Islanders to 38.5 percent shooting. Joy Williamson leads Texas A&M-CC with 6 points.
