Nice to see the two Ryans who contribute so much to this blog getting out for some time on the water together. Ryan Kelly with Flaming Gorge Resort, sends in reports on the Green River, while Ryan Mosley, Project Leader for the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources Flaming Gorge Project, sends in reports of fishing on the Gorge.

Green River Report for November 16th, 2012Flows: 800, Double peaking will begin on Dec. 1st.Hatches: Still a few BWO's out there and a few midges.Last Friday brought some cold and snow. As I suspected it seemed to encourage a few more brown trout to spawn. There are a lot of spawning fish out there so be careful when wading. The overcast on Friday and Saturday made for some great streamer fishing. Goldilocks, a green river favorite, was the most productive streamer. Eggs continue to be good. We found a few fish that would still rise to our large black dries. With the bad weather and a few scheduling changes I had the opportunity to get out with some friends. My friend and fellow guide Jordan Gillespie came out for a bitterly cold weekend hoping to top the 25" mark. Check out the pics as he found one just over 25". Wednesday I floated with Ryan Mosley, our fabulous project manager and biologist extraordinaire here on the Green. Ryan was hoping to best his mark for big fish on a fly (he is traditionally a spin fishermen) of 21". He managed a 22" brown that was a toad (also included in the pics). The fish came out of the water half a dozen times. Whoever said brown's don't jump never fished the Green. It was a blast to be with these fine anglers and watching them catch such fine fish. I, on the other hand, blew my chance at greatness with an overzealous set. Happy Thanksgiving. I hope your able to turn black Friday into big brown Friday and catch the big one. good times and dancing lines, Ryan
