The Utah Highway Patrol has identified a man killed in a head-on crash near St. George on Friday as Thomas Servie, 71, of Aurora, Ill.

The cause of the accident remained under investigation Sunday, Trooper Cameron Roden said.

Servie was driving a Hyundai south on Interstate 15 about 4:45 p.m. Friday when he drifted over the median and into northbound traffic lanes, hitting a pickup truck head on, Roden said.

Servie, who was alone in the car, died at the scene. He was wearing a seat belt.

The driver of the pickup, whose name was not released, was taken to Dixie Regional Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening.
